Sounding Out Symposium New Music Stage

Sound and Music in partnership with Music for Youth, present Sounding Out: New Music Stage, a presentation and panel session featuring leaders in the fields of new music and music education, joined by young composers and creative musicians.

It is a unique opportunity for composers and music educators to come together to explore how young people can be supported to be creators and composers of new music through examining ways of collaborating and models of good practice, and by listening to the experiences of the young musicians themselves.

Sound and Music is launching a number of new initiatives aimed at encouraging collaborations between composers, professional artists and young musicians.

This afternoon session brings together composers, educationalists and arts professionals to discuss the challenges and possibilities around the performance of original work by young musicians, and the opportunities available through Music For Youth and Sound And Music.
