Oliver Cherer

Oliver Cherer has previously issued records as part of 90s big beat duo Cooler vying with the likes of Chemical Brothers to make the nastiest, acidest dance music of the late 90s. In 2000 he side-stepped into making quiet, beatless Zen music for reflection and contemplation. As Dollboy from the early noughties he released a series of increasingly acoustic records. Since then his sound has morphed from warm, electronic water music to electric psychedelic wig-out but always with an unabashed English sensibility and a clear love of melody. Reviews often name check Robert Wyatt, Syd Barret, Eno putting him down at the English Quirks end of the Venn diagram.

Last year's "Sir Ollife Leigh And Other Ghosts" saw Oliver's debut under his own name and further development of a gothic, folky, radiophonic sound. Oliver is currently at work on a new album of songs and a project of psychogeographic music based on our solar system for an artist-in-residence appointment in Hastings and Italy.
