The green and pleasant land of England is almost a myth. War and conflict is the norm in every country. Children are used as pawns in grown men’s games. In one such conflict, that of King John and his young nephew Arthur, the heart of the matter is actually a matter of the heart. The bitter struggle for power begs the question; how far will we go to get what we want?

This high energy, hour-long adaptation of one of the Bard’s rarely-performed plays uses original music, puppetry and powerful ensemble performances to capture the dynamic realism of Shakespeare’s compelling tale.

Recommended for audiences aged over eight years, Hammerpuzzle’s staging of King John is directed by Bryn Holding and performed by eight actors.
