The Jezebel Sextet
With over 15 years experience on the live circuit, The Jezebel Sextet has worked with singers such as Mudibu (JP Bimeni and The Blackbelts), Sir Joe Quarterman (Free Soul), Rev Chunky (The New Mastersounds), Matt Henry (Olivier Award winner and The Voice finalist), Liz Swain (Heritage Orchestra), Paris Ruel, Sulene Fleming (Brand New Heavies) and Randa Khamis (Freestyle Records). They've played all over Europe, and appeared on BBC 6 music and London’s LBC radio. They appear on Freestyle Records’ Fresh Out The Box compilation and released their debut album Lift It Up in 2012 produced by Leigh Gracie (Speedometer). From touring Europe with Free Soul legend Sir Joe Quarterman (and supporting De La Soul) to tearing the roof off some of the worlds' most famous venues - the Jezebel Sextet is well established as one of the UK's most exciting funk 'n' soul bands. Audiences love The Jezebel Sextet because for how together it sounds - it's a band more than the sum of its parts. Leigh Gracie (Speedometer) commented after producing their debut LP: "The first thing that struck me when I met the band was how 'together' they are. Sure they are great players, and a super-tight group, but they're all involved in the writing and arranging too. This commitment cuts across egos and was easy for me to get involved too." The Jezebel Sextet band members have performed with many high profile and legendary artists at world famous venues from Ronnie Scott's to Glastonbury and The Albert Hall, working with artists from Rag 'N' Bone Man to Ruben Wilson, James Taylor Quartet to Liberty X! “Cool, slinky, and tight in all the right places” — Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show, BBC 6Music “The Jezebel Sextet shine with their majestic horn section” — Blues & Soul “Pure dynamite! One of the best funk 'n soul bands in the world!” — DJ Healer Selecta “Exceptional energy... if you like funk the way it used to be in the late 1960s, believe us these guys really know how to cook the hard way!” — Stéfan & Fabrice Garcia, Saint Paul Soul Jazz Festival “At Koko The Jezebel Sextet literally blew the roof off the place and had the audience screaming for more... they never fail to impress” — Adrian Gibson, AGMP Ltd “Pure unadulterated, funky soulful music born out of sheer love” — Rev Chunky “Great show with an excellent band and vocals. Audience loved it. They were dancing in the aisles and gave a standing ovation at the end!” — Alison Young, Head of Programming & Producing, The Stables “By mid-show, people were dancing anywhere they could find space. Truly magical, gave me goosebumps. They looked super-slick too! ” — Jan Cottington, Manager - Chapel Arts, Bath
