Getting Into Poetry - A Workshop

What are the differences between writing poetry and writing short stories or novels?

In this practical workshop, you’ll try out some techniques in an informal and relaxed way, and everyone will go home with the beginnings of a poem to work on.

No previous experience of writing poetry is needed, and even those who have written before may enjoy exercises to send them in new directions. The emphasis will be on freeing the imagination and experimenting with words.

The workshop will be taught by Cynthia Fuller, who has published six collections of poetry, most recently Estuary (Red Squirrel Press). She is an experienced workshop leader and teacher of creative writing.
