For some festival goers, Tom Robinson evokes memories of LGBT activism in the late ‘70’s. With the Tom Robinson Band, he was responsible for hits such as ‘2-4-6-8 Motorway’ and the BBC-censored ‘Glad to be Gay’. As a musician he has shared writing credits with artists such as Elton John and Peter Gabriel.
To others he is the voice behind The Tom Robinson Show on BBC 6 Music and a signpost to undiscovered alternative music, old and new. This eclectic taste is mined further on Robinson’s blog, Fresh on the Net, and will be in full effect at Robinson’s Open House show. Tom will be playing old and new songs and recounting his fascinating journey in music.
