English Youth Ballet

Brought to you by English Youth Ballet, an exciting and progressive company with eight professional principal artists and up to 100 young local dancers from around the UK, comes a spectacular evening of ballet.

Ballet Etudes is a one act homage to classical ballet training. The rigours of the daily ballet class are given a theatrical spin from ballet exercises at the barre that ends with spectacular bravura displays in a grand finale. EYB’s professional principals give virtuoso performances, backed up by a corps de ballet of talented local dancers and accompanied by the orchestration of the beautiful arrangements of Carl Czerny’s piano studies.

The Nutcracker Suite, Tchaikovsky's magical score, follows a Prince who escorts young Clara to the Kingdom of Sweets where she meets the Sugar Plum Fairy. A divertissements of spectacular dances, each representing a sweet, is given in her honour with the spectacular grand Sugar Plum pas de deux with the Prince bringing the finale to a glorious close.
