In Stephen Bereford’s stunning debut play, Judy Haussman is an idealistic but impossibly impractical and muddle-headed relic of the sixties, who, in her old, ramshackle seaside house, presides over her dysfunctional family.

She is plainly Britannia: her indulgence of herself and her children symbolises what it is that has got the country into the pickle it is today.
