The quartet lineup of Simon Thacker's Svara-Kanti expanding on the mystical Bengali Baul folk spiritual tradition unites India, Bangladesh and Scotland, with some of the most emotive and powerful music you will ever hear. This is very much a once in a generation tour and a very rare opportunity to present this amazing lineup in Scotland.
The quartet features Bangladesh based singer Farida Yesmin, India's Raju Das Baul (voice/khomok), Kolkata's Sunayana Ghosh (one of a growing number of exceptional female tabla exponents) and Simon. This lineup first performed at Dhaka Folk Fest for 60 000 people.
