VE Day 70 Celebrations

This is the big one! Organised by Rushmoor Borough Council, Aldershot Garrison, Home Front History and the Hampshire Cultural Trust, VE Day 70 will provide a special day of family fun in Aldershot town centre.

At 11:00am, the Victory Day Parade will set off from the Princes Hall. The procession - to include marching bands, veterans, historical re-enactors, military personnel and vintage cars groups - will parade along Grosvenor Road, Victoria Road, Station Road and the High Street.

A large vintage fair selling antiques and memorabilia, , with a classic car show in the Princes Gardens car park, live music and 1940s' entertainment all day in the Princes Gardens bandstand, and a wartime exhibition at the Princes Hall. The exhibition runs from 10:00am to 5:00pm on Saturday and 11:00am to 3:00pm on Sunday.

The Aldershot Military Museum will also be open between 11am - 4pm. Come along and have a go at VE Day-inspired 'Make and Takes'. More information is available from the Hampshire Cultural Trust website.
