A full-scale performance of Tippett’s powerful masterpiece, performed by Aberystwyth’s highlyacclaimed choral society, the splendid Sinfonia Cambrensis and four international soloists. 1938. In Paris a young Polish Jew, whose parents had been deported, shot a German diplomat.

The German Nazi government’s reaction was devastating. One of the great choral works of the twentieth century, A Child of Our Time is inspired by Bach’s Passions, Handel’s Messiah and the American spirituals that form the cornerstones of this wonderful work.

Also featuring in this concert will be Vaughan Williams' Toward The Unknown Region - a song for chorus and orchestra using the words of Walt Whitman.
