When would-be nightclub singer & disco diva Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a murder, she is given police protection in the last place you’d expect – a convent!

Disguised as Sister Mary Clarence, she soon clashes with the strict Mother Superior, while bringing a taste of the outside world to the nuns’ cloistered existence.

However she wins over the Sisters with her singing talent and inspires them to form a contemporary choir – much to the delight of their Cardinal and dismay of Mother Superior!
