Lakme
Set in India during the British Raj, the opera tells the story of the doomed love affair between Lakme, the daughter of a Hindu high priest and a British officer. This jewel of an opera is best known for the famous ‘Flower Duet’ (made famous by the British Airways commercials).
Sung in English and accompanied by chamber orchestra.
