The EUCO gave its first concerts in 1981 and soon gained a worldwide reputation as a musical ambassador for the European Union. The Chamber Orchestra annually perform around 40 concerts and have played in 73 countries to-date. Recent soloists include Nicola Benedetti, Alison Balsam and Julian Lloyd Webber. Other distinguished artists include, Lazar Berman, Mischa Maisky, James Galway, Gil Apap, Alina Ibragimova and Emma Johnson.
