Blood And Granite - The Crime And Punishment Tour
It's the sequel!
The Castlegate was the site of public executions of those who had committed foul deeds.
Learn more about the city's gory past as it dealt with its criminals; hear too about the witches burned at Heading Hill; Andrew Hosack, hanged as a thief, but believed to be a brutal killer; Sir John Gordon, practically butchered to death by the local axe-man in the market square; and the sectarian slaying of Brother Francis, Trinitarian monk in 1559 by a gang of thugs sent by the lairds of Angus and the Mearns.
Not for the faint-hearted!
Meet at the Mercat Cross, just across from La Lombarda Italian Restaurant in Castlegate.
