Wojtek Bear Ice Hockey Cup
Introducing to you the Second World War Hero – Wojtek the Bear. Wojtek was a Persian orphan bear, who became a Polish soldier and helped the allies during Second World War and ended up in Scotland. www.wojtekmemorialtrust.com
The Trust has raised two thirds of the required funds towards the Wojtek’s Monument, which will be placed in Princes Street Gardens on the 70thAnniversary of the End of Second World War.
Ice Hockey Cup will be played in four cities in Scotland: Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow. The themes of the games will be focused on Wojtek’s history.
The gathered money from sold tickets will help with the fulfilment of the Wojtek Memorial Trust Statue Project.
Moreover, we aim to improve Polish-Scottish relationship and educate children, youngsters and adults about the amazing story that Wojtek lived through.
