Penarth Chamber Music Festival: Saturday Evening Concert

This second evening concert features two of the greatest works of 19th century chamber music.

Dedicated to Tchaikovsky, Arensky's second string quartet is a deep, folk-inspired piece played with an unusual combination of instruments, violin, viola and 2 cellos.

Schubert's String Quintet has been selected by 72 guests on Desert Island Discs as an 'essential' castaway piece (The Daily Telegraph) and it is easy to see why. We expect this to be a magical performance of the infamous piece in our gallery space.
