Meet our museum conservation team and investigate x-ray objects.

Drop in to the Hands On Base to find out about British birds and mammals with Jo Hatton, Head of Natural History.

Fish Tails...

Our aquarium curators share some insights into their favourite aquarium creatures. Meet near the aquarium entrance. A ticket to the aquarium is needed and spaces will be limited.
Family Art Fun: Make an Owl mask
11am - 2.45pm
Family session for children aged 3 +.
Entry at 11am, 11.45am, 12.30pm, 1.15pm, 2pm and 2.45pm.
In the Education Centre - please queue outside the Museum.
An Introduction to Animal Walk
11am, 12pm, 2pm, 3pm
Catherine, our Animal Keeper, will give a short introduction to our Animal Walk and its inhabitants.
Spaces are limited, the first 20 people in the queue will be admitted
Meet at Gardens Pavilion.
Take a Tour with Mr. Horniman
11.30am 1.15pm and 3pm
Meet Mr Horniman himself and share his stories of amazing objects and exciting journeys.

Meet in the Natural History Gallery.
Nature Trail Discovery
2pm - 3.30pm
Join the Trust for Urban Ecology and discover an environment alive with insects, animals, birds, trees, plants and amphibians.
Very limited spaces. Tickets available from the Information Desk area 30 minutes before the session begins. Tickets will only be given to adults and children physically present in the queue.
Please note that the Nature Trail is accessed via steps and is approximately one mile round, there are no facilities on or near the trail.
Object Handling: Discovery for All
2pm - 3.30pm
Explore our Hands On Base and handle some of the thousands of real objects from around the world that it holds.
