Amy Hollinrake is a rising artist emerging from the South-East London folk scene. Her songs re-imagine the stories in folklore and mythology through a modern feminist lens, soundtracked by her hauntingly beautiful and earthy brand of contemporary alt-folk. Musical touchstones include Joanna Newsom, Sandy Denny, Adrienne Lenker, and the new era of feminist folk artists such as Paris Paloma.
Amy Hollinrake
Amy Hollinrake is a singer-songwriter whose music mixes folk melodies with contemporary ideas and sounds. Based in South-East London she combines influences close to home and further afield. Playing the Mountain Dulcimer, she pairs this with jazz inflected rhythms and washing synth textures and a love of 60s folk. Her songwriting, described as both cryptic and emotionally direct, touches on female experience in old stories while telling new ones, giving insight into then and now.
