In 1966 Bob Dylan toured the UK with -shock horror- an electric band. Furious folkies famously shouted JUDAS at a concert in Manchester. 60 years on, The BOB VILLAINS are recreating the iconic occasion and are delighted to be back at the UTEA.
Covering his career from 1960s acoustic, going electric through his many changes of style. For over a decade, these five musicians who make up The Bob Villains have presented Dylan’s work with the respect it deserves.
Songs taken from an extensive repertoire that includes favourites like Blowing in the Wind, Mr Tambourine Man, All Along the Watchtower, Forever Young, Like a Rolling Stone (of course), Hurricane, One More Cup of Coffee, Knocking on Heaven’s Door, Quinn the Eskimo, You’re a Big Girl Now, Beyond Here Lies Nothing, Lay Lady Lay as well as many from the less well-thumbed pages of the Dylan songbook.
It is also 60 years since the release of the iconic double album Blonde on Blonde and a selection of songs from that album will be performed.
May also sees Bob Dylan's 85th Birthday, so come along and celebrate
