Worcester Festival Choral Society opens its 2024-25 concert season with a stunning programme of much-loved choral and orchestral works by Mozart and Fauré.
Join the 140 voices of Worcester Festival Choral Society for this unmissable concert of thrilling choral and orchestral favourites. This season-opening performance features not only the overture to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s opera The Magic Flute and divine choral harmonies of his Solemn Vespers, but also the tuneful beauty of Gabriel Fauré’s Cantique de Jean Racine and the glorious richness of his Requiem mass.
Appearing alongside Worcester Festival Choral Society will be four, internationally acclaimed soloists: Brittany King (soprano), Frances Gregory (mezzo soprano), greg Tassell (tenor) and Peter Edge (baritone). Conducted by director of music Samuel Hudson, and accompanied by the superb Meridian Sinfonia orchestra, the concert’s magnificent setting of Worcester Cathedral adds the perfect finishing touch.
