About the show

Get ready for a powerful and nostalgic journey back to the heart of working-class Britain in the 1960s and 70s. England's Tales of the Council House Kid is a powerful, deeply nostalgic theatre show and living memoir.

Through vivid, heartfelt stories and unforgettable songs, you'll experience life growing up on English council estates, a world of camaraderie, grit, and romantic dreams.

This isn't just a performance, it's a living memoir, celebrating the humour and resilience forged in the shadow of Britain's small towns, cities, tower blocks and council estates.

Join Francis for a show that will stir your memory and lift your spirits. The performance features some of my old songs that soundtracked those formative years, along with a few brand new tunes that bring the past right into the present.

Whether you grew up in a council house or simply appreciate a moving, authentic piece of collective British history, this show promises an evening of raw, beautiful storytelling and music
