The perfect family live jazz entertainment to swing you into the holiday spirit!
Join the Watford Jazz Junction for a festive jazz show that is now celebrating 11 sell-out years at Ronnie Scott’s - and they're coming to Watford first! There's no better way to swing into the holidays.
Fronted by acclaimed singer Joanna Eden ("the UK's answer to Norah Jones and Diana Krall" TIME OUT) and featuring the groovy sounds of the Chris Ingham Quartet ("one of the finest combos in the country" JAZZ JOURNAL), Jazz at the Movies - A Swinging Christmas gathers jazzy festive favourites as made famous by Ella, Eartha, Frank, Doris, Dean, Bing and a whole gang of cool celluloid cats and hip Hollywood chicks.
An enchanting show rich with anecdote, sophistication and swing, described by one audience member as "pure joy".
Please note there is a matinee performance that starts at 3pm and an evening performance that starts at 7.30pm.
Acclaimed jazz singer and acoustic singer-songwriter Joanna Eden has performed all over the world, released 5 albums and supported Jamie Cullum, the Buena Vista Social Club, Ronan Keating and the Blockheads. Sir Michael Parkinson instructed his Radio 2 listeners to “seek her out” and jazz legend Courtney Pine champions her recordings on his BBC Radio 2 show, while Jamie Cullum describes her as “Brilliant!”. She has performed live on BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour and Mojo Magazine has given her original albums rave reviews stating that her songs have “melody, mystery and bite!”. Time Out described Joanna as “the UK’s answer to Diana Krall and Norah Jones.” Joanna has been a singing teacher for 12 years since the parents of her first student begged her to start. That student was Grammy and Oscar winner Sam Smith who describes her as 'the reason I sing'. Joanna lives near Cambridge with her daughter.
