About the show
Alabama-based “Radiator” Rick Asherson will lead a one-hour “Introduction to the Blues Harmonica” workshop. This is a fun and exciting opportunity to have a hands-on, interactive learning experience that will introduce you to the joys of playing blues harmonica.
The program is a family event, appropriate for participants from 7 years on up! There will be suitable beginner harmonicas available at the event for £5, but please feel free to bring your own 10-hole harmonica in the key of C.
Rick is appearing Friday October 23rd from 8pm -10:30pm at the Ventnor Arts Club with blues partner Debbie Bond, as part of their 2026 "Blues Without Borders" tour.
Featuring - Debbie Bond Blues Band
Blues singer, guitar player and songwriter Debbie Bond has been paying her dues in the Alabama backwoods for over 30 years. Having worked with some of the great Alabama traditional blues musicians, including Johnny Shines, Willie King and Eddie Kirkland, Bond is now carving her own unique niche in the blues and soul world. Having release three CDs in the last few years, with mostly original songs, as Maxwell Russell of the Shoals Songwriters Showcase say, she delivers ". . . a little bit of soul, some down home blues, clever lyrics, excellent musicians and angelic voice. That's what you experience with Debbie Bond. A true original in every sense of the word."
