Opened in 1806, this important grade II listed building is one of the oldest working theatres in the country with a stunning Regency auditorium which seats 952 across four levels. It's located in the centre of the city, close to the Royal Pavilion and the famous Laines shopping area. Expect to see touring West End Shows as well as a variety of live music, stand-up comedy, ballet and opera.

Getting there

By car: The nearest car park to the theatre is the NCP on Church Street which offers parking at a reduced rate in the evening.

By bus and train: Brighton railway station is approximately 15 minutes walk from the theatre. Many Brighton buses stop on North Street which is 2 minutes walk from the venue.

Eating and drinking

The theatre offers a variety of bars on every level of the building, including the Royal Circle bar, which offers views over The Royal Pavilion.

Brighton City centre has an abundance of pubs and restaurants, and many of the best ones are within a short walk of the theatre. Some of our favourites are the Chilli Pickle serving modern South Asian food (Jubilee Street, 5 minutes walk), Pinocchio (Italian, opposite the theatre) and family-friendly chain Bill's (North Road, 5 minutes).

Hotels

Brighton has a huge number of hotels, but they tend to be expensive during the summer months. The Premier Inn on North Street is just 5 minutes walk from the theatre.

Accessibility

There is no lift at the venue, but access to the venue through the box office on New Road is step-free. All the ground floor including the stalls is also step-free and there are seven wheelchair positions in the stalls. For further information, call 0333 009 5399.
