Moon Hooch Tour Dates

Moon Hooch Tour Dates

Moon Hooch is a self-described "cave music" band, consisting of saxophonists Wenzl McGowen and Mike Wilbur along with drummer James Muschler. They play instrumental music, having started as a busking act in New York City subway stations. During this time they purportedly incited numerous "subway dance parties".

Moon Hooch formed in Brooklyn and is managed by The Hornblow Group, through which they connected with They Might Be Giants. The band opened the majority of TMBG's shows on the 2013 Nanobots tour. Over the course of the tour, they have been very warmly received by TMBG's audiences and show reviewers alike. John Flansburgh has occasionally joked that TMBG is becoming a "Moon Hooch tribute act", particularly after John Linnell acquired a contrabass clarinet. During the tour, the trio also released their eponymous debut album.
