Hugh Rainey Jazz Band Tour Dates

One-time banjo player in the '50s and '60s with Bob Wallis, Terry Lightfoot, Monty Sunshine and Cy Laurie, High Rainey took up the trumpet and formed his own band in 1970, since when they have performed extensively in and around the Greater London area.

The band's varied repertoire embraces the music of such diverse jazz legends as Bechet, Ellington, Beiderbecke, Morton, Lewis, Oliver, Basie and many others.

Hugh Rainey's Jazz Band comprises Hugh on trumpet with Les Hanscombe (trombone), Brian hart (clarinet and saxophone), Ollie Benson (banjo), Derek Pring (double bass and tuba), John Baker (drums) and Goff Dobber (clarinwet and saxes).
