Hilary Burt’s Blue Calluna - an 8 piece folk-jazz crossover band blending saxes, flutes and vocals with percussion-led rhythm section. Hilary composes songs and instrumentals that explore themes of friendship, loss, new beginnings and living in the moment, as well as reinterpreting well-known songs including Eleanor Rigby, Big Yellow Taxi and In Dublin’s Fair City. She works with rich textures using the various instrumental palettes at her disposal and leaving space for creative solos from members of the band.
Hilary has written for Terry Pack's Unfeasibly Large Ensemble Trees and for the Sussex Jazz Orchestra. Her music is represented by global music licensing company, Music Gateway.
"You compose music with such warmth and sunshine - 'restorative' is the word that comes to mind.”
“I love your music. It’s full of caring, nurturing vibes and intelligent interest in other people without cloying sentimentality.”
