David Mitchell Tour Dates

Born in 1969, David Mitchell grew up in Worcestershire. After graduating from Kent University, he taught English in Japan where he wrote his first novel, Ghostwritten. Published in 1999, Ghostwritten won the Mail on Sunday John Llewellyn Rhys Prize and was short listed for the Guardian First Book Award. David Mitchell’s second novel, number9dream, was short listed for the Booker Prize and in 2003 he was named one of Granta’s Best Young British Novelists. His third, Cloud Atlas, was short listed for the Man Booker Prize in 2004, won the Richard & Judy Best Read of the Year and was made into a film in 2012. It was followed by Black Swan Green and The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet, both longlisted for the Man Booker Prize. “To his legions of devoted fans, David Mitchell is the nearest thing to a magician that contemporary literature has to offer” - The Observer.
