About the show

Full bar + food

Brìghde Chaimbeul (Breech-uh Campbell) is a leading purveyor of celtic experimentalism and a master of the Scottish smallpipes; a bellows-blown, mellower cousin to the famous Highland bagpipes. A native Gaelic speaker, Brìghde roots her music in her language and culture. She rose to prominence as a prodigy of traditional music, but has since begun a journey to take the smallpipes into unchartered territory. She has devised a unique way or arranging for pipe music that emphasises the rich textural drones of the instrument; the constancy of sound that creates a trance-like atmosphere, played with enticing virtuosic liquidity. She draws inspiration from the world of interconnected piping traditions, but her most recent album brings in influence from ambient, avant garde and electronic music.

Bridget Hayden is a Todmorden-based musician & rural conjurer noted for her participation with free-form noise rock acts such as Vibracathedral Orchestra, Schisms and Sunburned Hand of The Man. Bridget’s solo output is somewhat difficult to define, often falling into and swinging in-between the static-haze between words and worlds. Aching, yearning folk abstractions drift and swing between blistering, swelling guitar-crackle: Ecstatic fire, paradoxically concussing and elucidating.

Tritor are a medieval trancey groovy dreamy-weamy medievally droney tapestry. With a vocal, bagpipe, hurdy gurdy, percussion sound once likened to bathing in warm plums...

Bridget Hayden

'Bridget Hayden is a musician and artist who found notoriety as a multi-instrumentalist in experimental drone music ensemble Vibracathedral Orchestra. Since 2006 she has produced a catalogue of accomplished compositions and is accredited for a thoroughly contemporary and remarkably sensitive readdress to the blues music tradition, most notable of which is A Siren Blares In An Indifferent Ocean, released on KRAAK records in 2011 to critical acclaim.

There are countless attestations to her captivating live work accruing online with each performance and more so now that Hayden is beginning to integrate her visual work – a body of abstract and figurative film, painting and drawing – with her aural performance, creating evocative installations of light, sound and movement that emerge from undomesticated origins.'
