About the show
Join local music teacher Laraine Levin for an enjoyable and varied recital featuring performances by Laraine and several of her students of all ages and abilities, from beginners to advanced players.
The programme will include Mozart, James Bond, Burgmüller, Adele, Beethoven, Grieg, The Fugees and many more recognisable classics. It will conclude with Laraine performing François Borne’s Flute Fantaisie Brillante on Themes from Carmen.
About
Laraine began playing piano at the age of five and flute at age seven, achieving Grade 8 flute at 13, Grade 8 piano at 17 and Grade 8 Recorder in April 2025. As a young musician she was principal flautist in the Reading Youth Orchestra, Berkshire Youth Wind Orchestra and Berkshire Youth Orchestra, and was also a Berkshire County Music Scholar, winning multiple competitions and awards.
Laraine later gained an honours degree in Music from the University of Manchester, studying with Richard Davis, and has been teaching flute and piano for 35 years, including ten years in the USA.
