South Shields Songwriter Patrick Gosling Announces Special Christmas Headline Show in Sunderland

South Tyneside’s own Patrick Gosling will round off an exceptional year with a festive headline performance at Sunderland’s leading grassroots music venue, Independent, on 23rd December.

The Christmas celebration show will bring Patrick’s recent 8-date UK tour to a close, which included a standout showcase slot at Sunderland’s Ripples festival. The fast-rising South Tyneside artist has earned widespread support for tracks including ‘Grim Reaper’, ‘The Water’, ‘Peachy’, and ‘Am I on Your Mind?’, and this year marked a major milestone as he signed his first distribution deal with Wipeout Music for the release of his debut EP ‘The Summit Push’.

The landmark year has seen Patrick establish himself as one of the region’s most compelling voices. In the summer he headlined Wearside’s Roulette Festival after performing a sold-out headline show at Pop Recs, and launching Sunderland’s Music City campaign at the Stadium of Light, playing pitchside in front of a 40,000-strong crowd.

Beyond his own music, Patrick remains a dedicated supporter of the North East music scene. This autumn he helped Stockton Road Hit Squad raise over £2,300 to build a mental health support strategy and bank of counselling hours for local musicians.

This year’s Christmas show promises to be his biggest seasonal celebration yet, building on last year’s performance supporting The Futureheads at The Fire Station.
