Bruckner:

Mass in E minor
Motets: Ave Maria, Christus factus est, Ecce Sacerdos magnus, Locus iste, Tota pulchra es, Virga Jesse

Anton Bruckner’s symphonies rank alongside the 19th century’s greatest, but he was a deeply religious man, whose devotion to the spiritual life also inspired him to write magnificent sacred choral works. His devout nature, provincial background, social naivety and unquestioning deference to authority set him apart from his contemporaries, whilst the originality of his music met with incomprehension from critics. Today, however, Bruckner is recognised as one of the most influential composers of his age, and to celebrate the 200th anniversary of his birth, this concert features his Mass in E minor for eight-part choir and wind orchestra, and a selection of his glorious motets.

Tickets: £16, £10 students/children, group discounts
