Selkie's Kiss

About the show

We are Selkie’s Kiss, a Cambridge-based free-folk group playing music influenced by the traditions of Britain, Ireland and Scandinavia. In our performances we interweave original, traditional and contemporary songs and dance tunes, harking back to our musical heritage while exploring the new.

Made up of Evan (fiddle, vocals), Jess (fiddle, vocals), Liam (guitar) and Kynan (bodhran), we formed on the session scene in Cambridge in 2025 and have spent time since honing our arrangements and gigging around East Anglia. Our folk is a living culture: not just an archive of ancient traditions but a breathing collection of art and activity, story and song.

We are also active players in the emerging queer folk scene in the UK; together we host the Fae Folkrooms, a music and poetry night that celebrates the underground, the otherworldly, the alternative, the queer and the extraordinary.
