About the show
Join us for a night of live comedy at the historic Fort Cumberland, home of the Portsmouth Distillery. Set within this unique coastal fort, Comedy at the Fort brings top-quality stand-up to one of Portsmouth’s most atmospheric venues.
The bar will be open all evening, serving cocktails and Portsmouth Distillery’s award-winning spirits, with a pizza van on site offering food before the show. Doors open at 18:00, with comedy starting at 20:00.
The evening will be hosted by local favourite James Alderson, who will guide you through a packed night of laughs.
Headlining the show is Jo Caulfield, an award-winning comedian, writer and actor celebrated for her sharp wit and fearless honesty. A regular on Mock the Week, Have I Got News for You and Live at the Apollo, Jo is one of the most respected performers on the UK comedy circuit.
Also appearing is Matt Bragg, whose distinctive deadpan style has earned him support slots with Ricky Gervais, Jason Manford and John Bishop. He was runner-up in Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year 2020 and has performed at the Edinburgh Festival.
Completing the line-up is Mike Cox, a high-energy performer and former South Coast Comedian of the Year, known for his sharp observational comedy and big stage presence.
Please note food and drinks aren't included in the ticket price. Seating is located within a marquee; heating is provided, but guests are advised to dress appropriately.

Graham Norton's writer and warm-up artiste, co-founder of the 'Hampstead Clinic' comedy club. She is regular performer at the Comedy Store and on The Stand Up Show. Jo is a regular guest on both Mock The Week and Have I Got News For You. Other TV appearances include The John Bishop Show, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Saturday Night Live, The Stand Up Show. Dubbed 'funniest woman in Britain', she lives up to the title with razor-sharp wit, acerbic observations and scandalous one-liners, all excellently written and impeccably delivered. Mike started performing stand-up comedy in July 2011. He reached the semi-finals of both So You Think You’re Funny in 2012 and The Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year Competition in 2013.
