Celebrate with us as we mark 50 years of joy!
50 years to the day of our first concert, we welcome you to experience a world of music at Turner Sims. International artist friends return to our stage for a vibrant evening of music, culminating in the live premiere of Voyages of the Heart.
Voyages of the Heart is one of the defining projects of our recent history. We commissioned it for the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower ship’s departure from Southampton. Due to pandemic restrictions in 2021, it has only ever been experienced on screen.
Reunited for our anniversary, the Voyages of the Heart Ensemble give Tunde’s powerful work the live premiere it deserves.
The premiere is paired with performances from award-winning pianists Federico Colli and Zoe Rahman, and the highly innovative Piatti Quartet.
Join us for classical, jazz and global joy with friends old and new.
Federico Colli from from Brescia, Italy, shot to prominence when he won the 2011 Salzburg International Mozart Competition followed by the prestigious Leeds International Piano Competition in 2012. Colli is renowned for his engaging stage presence and trademark cravat.

Zoe Rahman has firmly established herself as one of the brightest stars on the contemporary jazz scene. A vibrant and highly individual pianist/composer, her style is deeply rooted in jazz yet it reflects her classical background, British/Bengali heritage and her very broad musical taste. Known for her powerful technique, wide-ranging imagination and exuberant performance, she has become a highly sought-after musician, working most recently with the likes of George Mraz, Courtney Pine and Jerry Dammers’ Spatial AKA Orchestra.
