Professor Kate Williams is a bestselling author and broadcaster, and an award-winning academic. She has published ten bestselling historical books and presented many shows on the BBC and Channel 5, including ‘Restoration Home’, ‘Inside Versailles’, and ‘Secrets of the Royal Palaces’; as well as appearing on shows from ‘The Great British Bake Off’ to winning ‘Celebrity Mastermind’; a celebrity expert on ‘The Wheel’, and a contestant on ‘Pointless Celebrities’, plus covering royal events.

She also presents a podcast ‘Queens Kings and Dastardly Things’ and gives lectures all over the world. Her latest book, REGINA, out June 4th, about the history of royal women across the ages, comes after successful books including ‘England’s Mistress’ (wonderful – Washington Post), ‘Rival Queens’

Kate Williams

Kate Williams is a history lecturer, writer and television presenter. Previous historical works England's Mistress, a biography of Emma Hamilton and Becoming Queen, about the youth of Queen Victoria, were both highly acclaimed. Williams is also a novelist using her knowledge of history to base her characters in a particular time and place. Her first novel The Pleasures of Men was set in Victorian London while her recently published second novel The Storms of War tackles the impact of World War I on a prosperous family shunned by a society that once embraced them.
