Sheffield’s own Cattle Grid hit Yellow Arch to launch their debut EP!
After a few months off the gigging scene, they will be bringing a wealth of new exciting material.
Expect: raw garage-rock energy and electric violin; high-energy punk and sweeping, cinematic instrumentals; petty grievances and musings on the forthcoming apocalypse.
They’ve built a reputation for chaotic, charismatic live sets, earning praise for “redefining tradition” (Northern Exposure), “dripping with sardonic comment about male misogyny” (Now Then), “bursting with charisma” and most importantly: “a lot of fun” (Exposed Magazine).

With support from No Peeling: 5 Nottingham efficient punks with klangs, thwacks, bloops & whoops and Pagodas: grunge psychedelic pop and indie-folk from Sheffield's DIY scene.

Cattle Grid
Cattle Grid are a queer rock band from Sheffield, balancing the raw garage-rock energy of drums, bass and guitar with the melodic flourishes of electric violin and three different vocals.
From high energy punk numbers about cat calling to grand violin-led instrumentals depicting the apocalypse, their live shows are a collision of noise and harmony, intimacy and defiance.
They have cut their teeth at some of the Sheffield’s classic venues including Delicious Clam, Sidney & Matilda, Record Junkee, and their live music has been described as ‘redefining tradition’ (Northern Exposure) but also ‘dripping with sardonic comment about male misogyny’ (Now Then), ‘bursting with charisma’ and a ‘lot of fun’ (Exposed Magazine). Cattle Grid prove that you can be loud, queer, and serious about music—without taking yourself too seriously.
