The Tornados

60s pop and rock band who were the backing group for Billy Fury. They topped the charts on both sides of the Atlantic with the phenomenally successful hit Telstar and went on to release a string of organ-and-guitar led instrumental singles produced by the eccentric Joe Meek.

For over six decades, Dave Watts was the heartbeat of The Tornados, keeping the iconic band’s legacy alive through his passion, dedication, and musical brilliance. As the band's keyboardist from 1963 up until 2024, Dave is not only a key figure in its continued success but also the rightful owner of The Tornados’ name and branding. Now, that legacy lives on under the stewardship of long-term drummer Tristan Long, ensuring that Dave’s vision endures for years to come.
