About the show
The 2027 Wath Festival is set to make a grand return, commemorating its 55th Anniversary. Once again hosted at Wath Montgomery Hall Theatre, this year’s festival boasts an exciting lineup featuring Jez Lowe and the Bad Pennies, Jake Vaadeland and the Sturgeon River Boys, Virginia Kettle’s Rolling Folk, The Young ‘Uns, The Hooliemen, and Eddi Reader, all set to entertain a larger audience than ever before.
The Saturday Community events promise a rich program, showcasing morris dancing teams, maypole dancing, performances by local schools, engaging workshops, activities for children, craft and food stalls, dancing academies, street performances, and the beloved tradition of bread throwing from Wath Parish Church. Additional events are also in the works.
Since its inception in 1972, Wath Festival has been a family-friendly celebration in the heart of South Yorkshire and is among the oldest festivals in the U.K. It has previously been recognized as a finalist for the Best Festival in 2018, was a runner-up for Fatea magazine’s “Festival of the Year” in 2010 and won Fatea magazine's "Best Village Festival Award" in 2013.
