We’re thrilled to welcome two of British folk’s finest musicians, Miranda Sykes & Jim Causley to the beautiful Square Tower as part of their stunning and unique “Midwinter Tour”.
Join Jim & Miranda in celebrating the festive season with some gorgeous West Country carols, medieval and secular carols from around the British Isles, moving setting of Christmas poems by Cornish poet Charles Causley as well as a choice selection of seasonal songs by contemporary songwriters on the UK folk scene.
All delivered by two of Britain’s best loved voices, accompanied on a variety of instruments and a big helping of festive fun!
If you’re feeling a little dismayed with the over-commercialisation of “Christmas Present”, the join Miranda and Jim for a journey through Christmas past, that will be guaranteed to get you in the festive spirit. And in the Square Tower this will be a very special night...

Miranda Sykes
Miranda Sykes is a multi-talented singer, double bass and guitar player who easily slips between genres as diverse as folk, jazz, rock and pop. Her rich, spine-tingling vocals and strident, yet sensitive double bass playing is much in demand and she has worked alongside some of the finest musicians in the world.

Jim Causley
Jim is a young folk singer/musician from East Devon who performs an exciting mixture of traditional and contemporary songs including many of his own compositions.
