About the show
Its 30 years since The Prodigy released the album Firestarter - in fact the single released on the 18th March 1996 so nearly 30 years to the day of our event we'll be playing LOADS of Big Beat / Electro Dance tunes from the era and after the success of our Britpop Parties last year we're doing it again on a traditional 'Big Night Out' in Peterborough- The Thursday of the Easter Weekend in the 90's were as big - if not bigger than a Saturday night!!
Because its the start of the Easter Bank Holiday Weekend we're opening at 9pm for a warm up and ALL House spirits will be 90p a measure for 90 minutes from 9pm!!. The party will start in earnest at 10pm through to 2am!
If you were into alternative clubbing in the 90s in Peterborough then Saturday nights meant one thing - The Sugar Club BUT , this movement was being replicated all over the country with alternative / indie clubs springing up everywhere - so if you're new to the area and missed out on The Sugar then you're welcome to come to The Met and relive your own particular club venue - the music will be familiar to all
Bands like Oasis Blur Suede Pulp Stone Roses Happy Mondays, (ok late 80's!). Prodigy Nirvana , Pixies , Fat Boy Slim Stereo MC's RHCP .
We've 2 of the original Sugar Club DJ's on the decks all night - Martin Rowe and Nathan Cirello.
In a nutshell, if you were there in the 90's , its time to do it all again -
