About the show
Peterborough Mask Theatre return to the Key Theatre with Cubed3 a celebration of 21st century short plays, presented across several nights. Please read the information carefully for details of which plays are presented at each performance.
Tuesday 10th March and Saturday 14th March (Matinee) will pair two very different comedies: Ramona tells Jim by Sophie Wu tells of a teen romance, revisited some years later as the couple are reunited; while Last Tango in Little Grimley by David Tristram is a classic comedy set around the chaos of an amateur dramatic company.
Wednesday 11th March and Friday 13th March present a trio of plays. Only in the Dark is a surreal absurdist comedy by Matthew Clift, which is as much about slapstick as it is about philosophical musings; The Eye Maidens by Suzanne Tuck drops in on the committee meeting of a ladies’ club, whose space has accidently been double-booked with a well-known local theatre group; and Three Kings by Stephen Beresford follows one man’s search for meaning regarding fathers and sons, the gifts and burdens of inheritance, and the unfathomable puzzle of human relationships.
Finally, Thursday 12th March and Saturday 14th March (evening) have two intense psychological dramas: Nine by Jane Shepard tells the story of two women held against their will; The Same by Enda Walsh follows two women who meet in a psychiatric institution and slowly realise the truth about themselves.
You can book for just one performance or receive a discount for booking 2 or three performances.
