“What a piece of work is a man.”
Following an encounter with the ghost of his Father, Prince Hamlet seeks to uncover the truth behind his murder. Feigning madness, his quest for revenge and suspicions of his uncle, leads him to a web of deceit and betrayal ending in tragedy.
This 90-minute adaptation of William Shakespeare’s longest play asks what happens to Hamlet when he breaks through the noise which overwhelms him, and interrogates the moments of silence.
Presented by the Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall’s newly formed community company, The Theatre Royal Players, and directed by Rebecca Morris, this production is made possible thanks to the support of the Royal Shakespeare Company and funding from the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation and the Arts Council.
