Shaft Of Wit Comedy Big Comedy Club Night Featuring Mark Thomas, Tom Ward & Lily Phillips
Get ready for an unforgettable night of pin sharp satire, surreal storytelling, and laugh-out-loud brilliance as Beccles Public Hall hosts a special double headline comedy event on Friday, December 6th.
Mark Thomas
Legendary political firebrand, master storyteller, and cutting-edge satirist Mark Thomas returns to the stage with his signature blend of activism, wit, and jaw-dropping tales. In a world where ‘free speech’ is filtered and commodified, Mark carries the beacon of truth—funny, fearless, and fiercely relevant.
Joining Mark is the brilliantly offbeat Tom Ward, star of Live At The Apollo, known for his electrifying stage presence, surreal observations, and cult-favourite status on the UK comedy circuit. Expect the unexpected—and then some.
Plus Lily Phillips a fearless and funny regular at the London Comedy Store. She combines social satire with killer punchlines. The evening will be hosted by one of the best MCs in the land, David Ward, whose quick-fire charm and crowd mastery guarantee the laughs never stop.

Tom Ward is an award winning stand up comedian from London. A club and festival favourite around the UK he has been seen on Comedy Central’s ‘Roast Battle’, ‘Stand up Central’ and ‘Live From The Comedy Store’. He has done three solo comedy shows at The Edinburgh Fringe, receiving 5* reviews for each.

Lily Phillips
Lily Phillips likes to talk and sing about vaginas. She performed her debut solo show Lady Power at the Edinburgh and Camden fringe festivals in 2016. She performs with her comedy cabaret company The Ruby Darlings. "Charming and moderately obscene." (The Scotsman) "Phillips has us hooked."
