M G Boulter

For what has become an annual visit to Davenham Players Theatre - M G Boulter is a singer songwiter living on the Thames coast in Essex, United Kingdom. His songwriting has been described as “Gorgeous, in a word” by Uncut and “Highly Recommended” by the Independent on Sunday. His second full length album With Wolves the Lamb Will Lie was listed as one of the ‘Best Folk Albums of 2016’ by the Daily Telegraph.

M G has been a member of Blue Rose Code, Emily Portman’s Coracle Band and The Lucky Strikes and was a touring member of US groups The Duke and the King and the Simone Felice Group.

2025 has seen Matt opening for Eddi Reader on an extensive tour of the UK - whilst also gigging as a part of Jon Boden's Remnant Kings, here, there and everywhere...

Neil McSweeney is a British songwriter and musician based in Sheffield, England. His acoustic guitar playing style combines folk, blues and country influences but it is his voice, likened by The Guardian to a male Tracy Chapman, and his direct and personal lyrics, for which he is most recognised.

M G Boulter is a songwriter and musician who currently lives on the outer reaches of the Thames coast. As a player of an array of stringed instruments, M G Boulter has also worked alongside many other artists including Conor Oberst, Neil McSweeney, Duke and the King and Rosalie Deighton, while remaining a long standing member of the Simone Felice Group.

Neil McSweeney is one of Sheffield’s most outstanding singer-songwriters. The Guardian’s Dave Simpson described his “deeply felt, brooding songs rich in imagery. He has built up a national profile and has toured as support for Richard Hawley and Bellowhead among others. His self-released albums have earned him national radio play as well as critical acclaim in online and print media.
