About the show
Come and enjoy a unique TANGO experience, in the company of Bandoneon Maestro Hugo Satorre from Argentina and Ruth Rozelaar. Those who would like to, can choose their favourite dance tunes from a selection of over 50 titles.
These choices will then get woven into tandas, which Hugo and Ruth will play for you.
The musicians will be in the middle of the floor, while the dance happens all around them.
The live music will be from 2 – 3.15pm, and there will be traditionally DJ'd tango music for the rest of the afternoon.
Dance space downstairs and seated listening space up in the gallery.
Guest musician Hugo Satorre was born in Buenos Aires in July 1977 and studied at the Juan José Castro Conservatory. He has shared the stage with maestros such as Leopoldo Federico, Emilio Balcarce and José Libertella and holds a degree in Argentine Music from the Universidad Nacional de San Martín.
Hugo Satorre has performed in concert halls and theatres on five continents - the Sydney Opera House (Sydney), The Esplanade (Singapore), Walt Disney Hall (Los Angeles), Teatro Colón (Buenos Aires), The Arts Center (Melbourne) and Shanghai Oriental Art Center (Shanghai).
