About the show
Welcome to the New Quay Music Festival — where the rhythm of the waves meets the beat of the music.
Nestled in the heart of our beloved coastal town, the festival is more than just a weekend of live performances — it’s a celebration of community, creativity, and connection. Since our founding, we’ve grown from a grassroots gathering into one of Wales’ most cherished summer events, drawing music lovers from near and far to experience the magic of New Quay.
Each year, we curate a vibrant lineup of artists spanning genres and generations — from emerging local talent to nationally acclaimed acts — all set against the stunning backdrop of Cardigan Bay. Whether you’re dancing on the beach, discovering new sounds in tucked-away venues, or simply soaking up the atmosphere with friends and family, the festival offers something for everyone.
But what truly sets us apart is our spirit. We’re proudly independent, community-led, and deeply committed to showcasing the best of New Quay — its people, its businesses, and its unmistakable charm. Our volunteers, local partners, and passionate attendees are the heartbeat of the festival, and together we create an experience that’s as welcoming as it is unforgettable.
So whether you’re a first-time visitor or a lifelong fan, we invite you to join us in making memories, celebrating music, and keeping the New Quay vibe alive.

Guaranteed to get you dancing in the moonlight, sunlight and any other light you care to mention, Eastbourne's favourite sons have come a long way since the release of the hauntingly catchy 'Achilles Heel' in 1999. A top five album, numerous festival headline slots, TV appearances and THAT song that made watching the Jamie Oliver adverts bearable have made them one of indie's shining lights. Capable of funky blues-rock and soaring string balladry, just try resisting the urge to sing along and tap your foot.
T'Pau

Fronted by fiery redhead Carol Decker, T'Pau were one of the first acts to have a number one single and number one album in the charts at the same time with China In Your Hand and Bridge Of Spies. Other hits include Heart And Soul, Secret Garden and Valentine.
Virgil and The Accelerators

VIRGIL AND THE ACCELERATORS: ‘The Phoenix Returns’
Virgil Van Der Merwe, frontman and lead guitarist of the cult British blues-rock powerhouse Virgil and The Accelerators (VATA), is set to make a massively requested return to the live circuit.
Since news first broke of a new lineup forming, social media has been flooded with fans calling for Virgil’s return, making this 2026 tour one of the most requested comebacks in the UK blues-rock scene.
This "New Era" marks a deliberate return to the band's core identity: a stripped-back, raw power trio. The new lineup lock in a harder, heavier sound and cannot wait to share the explosive energy of this new chapter on stage with the fans who have been calling for it.
Joining Virgil to complete the trio is a powerhouse rhythm section that has locked in over years of playing together, providing a rock-solid and driving foundation:
• Maddy K (bass player for BBC Radio Wales presenter Bronwen Lewis and prog-jazz fusion band Z Machine).
• Jamie Williams (drummer for cult band The Ripping Cones, bringing over 15 years of professional performance experience).
Since winning Best Guitarist at the European Blues Awards, Virgil has shared stages with icons like Joe Bonamassa, Johnny Winter, and Wilko Johnson. The band’s legacy is anchored by the critically acclaimed debut album The Radium, which was named "Album of the Year" by Classic Rock Magazine.
