Julian Dicks

The Terminator’ began his career at Birmingham City, but is best remembered for his time at West Ham, where he still enjoys cult status. The sort of player the fans love on their team, but hate as the opposition, Julian was a fearsome tackler who never shirked from a physical confrontation. He was capped at both U-21 and England B level, with many shrewd pundits pushing for Terry Venables to include him in the squad for Euro ’96. Graeme Souness remarked that Dicks was “one of the best eleven players I have worked with”, a good passer of the ball, with great penalty and free kick taking ability.
