Our Classical Music Series presents Mebrakh Haughton-Johnson on Clarinet and George Ireland on piano. Mebrakh Haughton-Johnson is celebrated for his stylistic versatility, charismatic stage presence, and intensely expressive artistry. He has a fast-growing international profile, appearing as principal saxophonist with Chineke! Orchestra for BBC Proms and making his Carnegie Hall debut as principal clarinet of the Juilliard Orchestra.
Mebrakh’s programme will range from sublimely lyrical clarinet sonatas by Saint-Saens and Brahms to striking character pieces by contemporary composers Paquito D’Rivera and Jessie Montgomery.
